This Shirt was heavily featured on the Runway of Raf Simons FW18 Collection for 205W39NYC and definitely creates a very unique appearance. Before the explosion of the bandana/patchwork trend, this design focused on layering and patterns, rather than deconstruction.

It features patchworks of colorful bandana-looking patterns, with a soft cotton material,a classic collar, long sleeves, a relaxed fit, and sequin and patchwork embroidery. The shirts definitely deserve a high position when looking back at Raf Simon’s work at Calvin Klein.

the Collection

After a year of Raf Simon’s debut at Calvin Klein, he presented one of our favorite fashion shows of the last decade, 205W39NYC Fall Winter 2018. From the extraordinary runway that had a floor filled with real Popcorn to some of the most thought-out knitwear he ever designed, everything about it made this collection a huge evolution of Raf and his idea of Calvin Klein.

"This collection is an evolution of my idea of Calvin Klein – of a view onto American society – but now wider, universal. It’s an allegory for a meeting of old worlds and new worlds, relating to the discovery of America, the 1960’s Space Race, and the twenty-first century information age. Reflecting the notion of democracy, there is no cultural hierarchy: the mixes emancipate clothing and references from their meanings, from their own narratives, and collage them to discover something different – a different dream. More than anything else, this collection is about freedom. A word that defines America, and Calvin Klein” - Raf
