FW16 Double Breasted Coat in Brown Mohair

The Fall/Winter 2016 collection by Alessandro Sartori marked the conclusion of his four years at Berluti. The show opened in darkness before revealing a lineup that joined craftsmanship with structure. Sartori drew from the landscape of Marfa and the geometry of Donald Judd’s work, translating those ideas into rectangular jacquards and clean architectural lines. The palette moved through garnet and plum tones, seabird blue, and muted desert shades, adding warmth to the neutral base of camel and black.

Collaborations with artist Scott Campbell brought stitched serpent motifs and abstract patterns to jackets and bombers. Sartori also introduced new tailoring concepts such as the double front jacket and refined shearling outerwear. FW16 reflected Berluti’s focus on proportion, surface, and color harmony, closing Sartori’s tenure with a collection that balanced innovation and quiet precision.
