These Pants were featured on the Spring Summer 2018 Runway Show of Calvin Klein 205W39NYC. It was made in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, which also got the Creative Director of the season, Raf Simons, the access to the whole Archive of Andy Warhol. For SS18, Simons got use of Warhol’s “Death and Disaster” series, featuring tank tops and dresses with screen-printed images of car crashes and electric chairs. (the “Death and Disaster” series started when Henry Geldzahler, a curator and friend to Warhol, suggested the artist go deeper after creating his now iconic Campbell’s Soup Cans.) These unique pair of jeans feature a yellow screenprint of one of the "Car Crash" photographs from the series.

the Collection

Following his debut at Calvin Klein, Raf Simons took a very special attempt at creating his Spring Summer 2018 Collection. In a time where collaborations seem to have no limits, Raf Simons chose to stay true to his artistic values by collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, giving him access to the whole Archive of Andy Warhol and his artworks. The main focus laid on the use of Warhol’s “Death and Disaster” series, featuring clothes with screen-printed images of car crashes, electric chairs and more out of the series. (“Death and Disaster” started when Henry Geldzahler, a curator and friend to Warhol, suggested the artist go deeper after creating his now iconic Campbell’s Soup Cans.)
