Haider Ackermanns menswear debut a season earlier was already a stand-alone achievement, but FW14 even topped what was already highly appreciated of him before. One by one the models walked out onto a central stage that was decorated with a number of long folding mirrors. As the men, and a few women, walked around at the gathering those reflective images made it possible to appreciate Ackermann’s craftsmanship from all angles.

For many of the brands enthusiast FW14 is the best Haider Ackermann collection to this date. It was an across-the-board critical hit, even with American men's magazines and retail fashion directors praising the man‘s work.

"The decadence and extravagance of last time came from all the silks," Haider says. "This time, I wanted it to come from the inside. It was more subtle. I was thinking of Detroit and Chicago in the '40s. There is also something very deadly about it."
