This Souvenir Jacket is one of our absolute favorites from Hedi Slimane’s time at Saint Laurent. We associate a lot of nostalgia with this piece, because ten years ago we could just dream about owning it. It sold out instantly and was almost unattainable unless you paid well above retail.

The jacket comes from one of Hedi’s most iconic collections for the house. The SS16 Surf Sound collection blended his sharp silhouettes with a grunge edge and unmistakable LA energy. This piece captures that spirit perfectly and remains one of the standout designs from the season.

Finished in a classic souvenir-jacket shape, it’s made from a very high-quality viscose that gives it a fluid, luxurious feel. The print is playful but still refined, making it easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion.

The Spring Summer 2016 menswear collection by Hedi Slimane, titled Surf Sound, drew from the spirit of the California coast and the atmosphere of youth subcultures. Presented in Los Angeles, it explored music, surf and skate influences through Slimane’s refined tailoring and a distinct sense of ease.

The collection featured denim jackets, printed shirts, striped knits, and metallic outerwear paired with slim silhouettes. Fringed suede, plaid flannels, and embroidered bombers reinforced Slimane’s focus on individuality and raw energy.
